Since WaterAid was first set up by the UK water industry in 1981, we have shared a vision of a world where everyone everywhere has access to clean, safe water and proper toilets. Over the past 35 years, Wessex Water employees, customers and contractor partners have donated thousands of volunteering hours and raised millions of pounds to support WaterAid's work. Last year alone we raised £182,299 to support safe water and sanitation projects in some of the world's poorest communities.
Through our recently launched Wessex for Africa campaign, we will support projects in the Vakinankaratra region of Madagascar – an area with one of the poorest rates of access to water and sanitation services in the country.
On 1 September 2016, a group of volunteers from the company and some of our contractor partners will head to Madagascar to see WaterAid's work and visit the areas we will be supporting as part of our new partnership.
